Place as Matter - Rejmyre, Sweden 2009

During the workshop I have been focusing on how material can change through time and through external effects and how that could contribute to visualize and transform information, or create new information. My work is their for also directly connected to the issue of what we actually can see in the relation to what is left out or might be left out and how we choose to fill the gaps with the help of our surroundings or with different cohesions. On that basis I created new potential forms or course of events. I have been placing new information but also been given the content of the work a possibility to further changes or to evolve. Some of the objects had new a context or purpose again, some of them disappeared and created new unexpected traces that also change the meaning of my work here during time.

The finial piece that I made is called Better by the Minute. I reconstructed demolished and thrown away cats made of glass. While trying to figure out the shapes of the missing pieces I got a better understanding of the original material and how the cats actually had been constructed from the beginning. The original pieces was really a work of gravidity that was impossibly to imitate or copy in an another material . The cat’s were also broken I different ways witch added a variation of outcomes.
